Usain Bolt has decided not to take part in the Grand Prix events at Crystal Palace or Birmingham this summer due to UK tax laws. All international athletes who take part in competitions held in Britain are taxed 50% on their appearance fee winnings and a proportion of their worldwide endorsement earnings which has made the world record holder Usain Bolt to back out. The UK tax laws would instead of making Usain Bolt earnmoney make him loose money earned at the competitions.
Usain Bolt will instead take compete at the Olympic Games in London in 2012 as fortunately the Olympics are exempt from these tax rules. We look forward to seeing Bolt in other competitions worldwide. Keep an eye out for Usain Bolts Coming Races section!
